Talking Major U2 Fan!

Hi! I can't believe I didn't see this thread. I am a major U2 fan. I'm also probably the oldest one on this thread I bet (age 48). LOL! Doesn't matter. I will be rocking and rolling forever! It's hard for me to pick out a favorite album cause I love all their music. I just got through burning a CD for myself of my favorite songs from each album. I don't have Rattle and Hum though, sounds like I need to get it. I also don't have POP. Does anyone have that and like it? I am like Susan in that I think The Edge is a great guitarist -- so crisp and clean. I can tell you which song is my favorite though -- Pride! I LOVE that song! The Edge does some of the best guitar playing on that song. And Bono seems to sing his heart out on it. Must have very important meaning to them. I also love Elevation! Wow! What a song! Oh there are so many I could mention.

I have never seen them in concert! I want to but I hear their concerts are very expensive, but worth it. My nephews and neices came over to my house one day to find that I have photos of Bono and the band hung up in my studio. They were aghast but delighted. They said they tried really hard to get tickets in L.A. and that next time they come, they'll include me! Whoo hoo! The oldster and the youngins all rockin together!

And I love Bono, Paddybear. I can see why you stayed around until 3 a.m. My husband wouldn't have had the patience to stick around with me that long -- hee, hee! And, I would have been worse than you while seeing him. I would have drooled all over myself. I also have a lot of admiration for him in a lot of things that he does and what he believes in and also the fact that he has been married to his highschool sweetheart all these years!

I want to draw a portait of Bono bad but can't find a decent photo of the guy showing those Irish blue eyes. Ahh!

I also like the Corrs really well and have you seen/heard Bono singing with Andrea Corr on two of their songs Live From Dublin -- oh! much too cool! Well you got me started! LOL!

U2 7

I found a cd called "U2 7" at the local store Target; anyone familiar with this one? It appears to be some release that just Target stores handle & perhaps was some promotional thing that I missed out on when it first came out... anyway, its got 7 songs on it. Several are remixes of familiar songs and to my amusement don't sound nearly as good as the versions of the songs we've heard.

Does anyone know if this is a b-sides compilation? It something you hard-core collectors ought to have if you don't already!

Susan

Rattle & Hum was also a great album. I don’t like picking. Makes me feel guilty. heehee
Did you see the documentary they made to go along with the making of the album? I liked it (of course) but it really got bad views.

I got that one as well. I really love the first 2 songs. I'm not sure if these will be considered b-sides though. But it's a great addition to my collection.

Hi Rosemary:

First and foremost, the Corrs are really good. I have heard and seen the songs Bono sings with them. I bought the Corrs CD just for those songs, and turned out liking the whole CD.

I have been following U2 for 17 years. I have gone to everyone of their Concerts. ATYCLB's tour was the best because, I seen them 4 times, however, the last two shows I didn't even have tickets for. I just showed up. Turns out, U2 always leaves tickets to the side to sell the day of the show, so the scalpers don't get them all. I paid $45 for general addimision, and was 10 feet from the stage. The best seats to date yet.

I got a sh*t load of pitures, close-ups and all from various web sites. One for example: http://www.rollingstone.com, and http://www.u2mansion.com has great shots as well. If you want me to send you my pictures, give me your address.

Talking Would love photos

Hi Pabbybear!

First of all, I mispelled your name in the last email -- so sorry. I noticed it after I had already sent it. I would love to see your photos. My email is rmary@theriver.com and I will send you address from there. Plus, anything that I can use from your photos, I will send you a print of my drawing, okay?

Thanks for sharing with us a way to get U2 tickets. However, I guess when they are sold out, I probably couldn't get them that way even. Do you check out the U2 websites from time-to-time? Probably stupid question. I also like the drummer a lot. My dad was a professional drummer so I have a propensity for loving drummers and I think Larry is a very good one. However, Larry always seems so intense, doesn't he?

I haven't checked out this U2 CD from Target yet. We don't have a Target in my town. I am waiting for their new CD that they're supposedly working on now. Heard anymore about it?

Hope to hear from you and glad you started this thread, Pabbybear. Thanks to you, I am going to start one on the Corrs now!

Rosemary

Hi Rosemary;

I have to ask, did you get your screenname from U2's "In God's Country" Song? I also would love anything you draw! I have a very large autographed photo collection of Bono and the Band. Even a Microphone signed by Bono. I will add it to the collection.

Here is a direct link to a web site with a heck of a lot of pictures! Have Fun. I couldn't pick one for ya, so I figured you would enjoy looking at them all. When I get to my home computer, I have more pictures there I will send you as well. I'll also look through my autographed photos to see if any of them are good.

U2's new single "Electric Storm" release date: September 16, 2002 and the Second "Best of Collection" release date: November 2002. It's a 17 Track album. They are currently still working on their new album and haven't release a date yet.

I tried to find a link top purchase the U27 CD on line. I couldn't find one. I will see if I can pick up a CD for ya. I'll let you know then mail it to ya if I'm successful.
