Renting in Edinburgh while seeking work

My partner & I are both professionals looking to move from London to Edinburgh this year. Due to the stress of trying to look for jobs while in another city, we've decided instead to seek work once we have moved up. We have savings to cover a realistic budget (rent, bills, discretionary spending) for more than 9 months. I'm just wondering if we're going to have any problems renting initially if we don't have jobs lined up, or should we be OK so long as we can prove that we have sufficient savings?
Both of us are very employable so I don't think we'll have any problem finding work once we're there, it's just that we don't want the hassle of organising a move plus job hunting at the same time. And I've heard from friends that some landlords & agents in London can be odd about taking on tenants who are between jobs so I'm wondering if Edinburgh is the same.
