Hope that helps a bit.

Yep, although he'll be on the emergency tax at first. But the pay slip looks great when you get it back after 3 months (that when I got it back). And he'll get £300 relocation money, which isn't bad either.

Hi,

I am also moving to Greenock to work for IBM but with an Adecco contract. Could anyone give me some information on the jobs at IBM and on the Scotish working laws regarding social insurance, sick pay and so on? What are your experiences in Greenock and at work?

I have found out that Greenock is not such a nice place to settle down. Is it worth to search for a room in Glasgow. And how expensive are the prices over there?

Many thanks and best regards
Ide

Check out http://www.s1rental.com or http://www.s1homes.com for accomodation in Scotland.

Greenock is accessible by train, bus or car, so you can stay to the south, down the Ayrshire coast, as previously indicated, or you can stay to the east, in Paisley or Glasgow, as long as you don't mind the commuting.

It all depends on your budget.

cheers

Elmy
