Sir Walter Scott

During my visits to Scotland I (inevatable) hear about Walter Scott. I would like to read his work, but he wrote so many books
Which book or books written by Walter Scott are highly recommended to read?
Thanks for the tips

Sir Walter Scott - Biography and Works

You can find all his work here.

You could start with some poetry. Either way, just try reading the first chapter switch to a different book it if doesn't appeal to you.

I personally like Rob Roy.

Personal faves; the work from Marmion, especially Lochinvar. Such wonderful word pictures.

And Ivanhoe for a novel.

I am apparently a romantic at heart!
