The House of Cards Trilogy

Recently I aquired this DVD set and I have to say that it is excellent. This is a political drama set in the early 1990s. It follows the rise to power of Chief Whip Francais Urquart. Francais Urquart a man more devious than perhaps most mordern politicians. Has Anyone else seen it? And do you have any opnions about it?

I think the name Urquart is Scottish

Excellent series Sir Knight - very macchiavellian.

Ian Richardson (the actor) is actually from Gorgie in Edinburgh, a not very posh area, which is amazing, I always thought he was English, because he barely has a trace of a Scottish accent.

There were three series. The first was the best - I seem to remember they became increasingly pornographic lol!

Thats Right SR. The last series "The Final Cut" was quite pornographic.

I have to admit I enjoyed it when it was less porno, but probably the porn aspect was realistic when it came to British politics! LOL

An excellent series - It was last repeated a few months ago on BBC4.

BTW, the name is Urquhart, not Urquart.

You are kidding, Richardson's accent is about as distinctive as Sean Connery's!
