Harry Potter - don't read this unless you've read all the books
OK... I'm warning everyone - don't read this post unless you've read all 6 of the Harry Potter books - because it will spoil it for you...
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ok... i just finished the last of the harry potter books and i've been dying to talk about it to someone - but no one i know has read all the books.... so.. 1st - do you really think sirrus is dead? i don't think he is, otherwise what would be the point of that 2 way mirror that harry got as a gift - also, sirrus didn't really die, he just fell behind a veil right - it wasn't an actual death? 2nd - DUMBLEDORE died (made me cry) - holy cow!!! i didn't see that coming in a million yeares- and espeicially not at the hands of snape! does anyone else think that maybe snape really is good and this was all planned between him and dumbledore? dumbledore seemed to be so sure that snape could be trusted - maybe it was a really elaborate setup to get voldermort to completely trust snape? 3rd - who the heck is RAB - the person that took the horacrux locket - is that maybe someone already introduced in the book and i dont remember?

ok... i just finished the last of the harry potter books and i've been dying to talk about it to someone - but no one i know has read all the books....
so.. 1st - do you really think sirrus is dead? i don't think he is, otherwise what would be the point of that 2 way mirror that harry got as a gift - also, sirrus didn't really die, he just fell behind a veil right - it wasn't an actual death? I think Sirius is really dead. Sirius gave Harry the two way mirror earlier in book 5 so that it would be a safe method of communication without the ministry knowing or Harry getting in trouble. At the end of the book Harry tries to contact Sirius via the mirror and nothing happens. Also, in book 6 Kreacher has to follow Harry's orders. If Sirius was still alive then Kreacher wouldn't deign to obey Harry. I could have sworn I read in an interview with J.K. Rowling that she said yes he is dead. But I can't find that so I will admit there is a possibility that he could still be alive. I personally don't think he is. Dumbledore's death made me cry too, even the second time I read the book. I was expecting his death though. From the 4th book I thought that in order for Harry to truly go after Voldemort he'd have to lose the one person who has meant the most to him and that is Dumbledore. Dumbledore embodied a trusted teacher, friend and fatherly figure all in one for Harry. I know there's something more going on with Snape, but I really can't say if he's truly evil or good or a little of both and he's being pulled on both sides. I kind of think that Dumbledore and Snape had it all planned. We never did learn what happened to Dumbledore's hand. Maybe it affected more than his hand and was slowly killing his body and so Dumbledore sacrificed himself on Harry's behalf. Do you think we'll see Fawkes again? I may be wrong but I think we'll see Fawkes come to Harry's aid in book 7. 3rd - who the heck is RAB - the person that took the horacrux locket - is that maybe someone already introduced in the book and i dont remember? I believe RAB is Regulus Black, Sirius's brother. Remember, he was ordered killed by Voldemort. What better reason that for turning against the dark lord. Also, in book 5 while they're cleaning the Black's house, they find a locket that is impossible to open. I think this locket is the horcrux stolen by RAB. |

but why mention the mirror at all? if the mirror has no place in the story or in future books, it would have been cut out of the story - as it serves no purpose. i think that either people can really come back from "behind the veil" - that it isn't really death - OR if you can't come back from where he is, he will somehow be able to communicate with harry via the mirrors. I was expecting his death though. From the 4th book I thought that in order for Harry to truly go after Voldemort he'd have to lose the one person who has meant the most to him and that is Dumbledore. i thought he would die too - just not until the last book - dumbledore would have to die not only for the reasons you mentioned, but because he is the only person that voldemort feared I kind of think that Dumbledore and Snape had it all planned. Not only did it never say what happened to dumbledore's hand, but we never got a good explanation of why dumbledore trusted snape so completely. the reason that harry grabbed onto (that snape felt bad for over hearing the prophecy which lead to the potter's death) i don't think is the real reason. snape has to stay good because dumbledore's legacy can not be that he trusted the wrong person and died as a result - there just has to be more to it. I believe RAB is Regulus Black, Sirius's brother. Remember, he was ordered killed by Voldemort. What better reason that for turning against the dark lord. Also, in book 5 while they're cleaning the Black's house, they find a locket that is impossible to open. I think this locket is the horcrux stolen by RAB. wow that's good - i dont remember those details - i think you might be right - ALTHOUGH - if regulus was alive, kreacher wouldn't be obeying harry (same reason you gave me as to why sirrius couldn't be alive) - unless you mean that he took the locket and was then later killed? also, i read something online a few days ago... that the prophecy said "neither can live while the other survives" and that means that both harry and voldemort must die...i guess there is a lot of ways to interpert that though - i certainly hope that JK doesn't kill off harry!
