I saw it last weekend, I thought it was the best yet. They did miss great chunks of the book out though and if you didn't already know the Harry Potter story you would never be able to pick up the plot, especially at the beginning with the Quidditch world cup.

But, if you're a fan, it's unmissable.

Aye... I totally agree with you Robert. I know that the movies can't have every detail in them as the books do.. but it pains me to see that they leave out every Quidditch game and the entire beginning of book four being the World Cup..

Not only that, but the whole story behind the "mark" in the sky without giving too much away to anyone else here.. How it got there.. and all that and who did it.. was all left out.. lol.. I was a bit thrown off by that..

You know.. LOTR movies are over three hours.. gods even Forest Gump was what, 3 1/2 hours.. lol.. so I don't know why.. a Multi Billion dollar book, that would rake in the money at the box offices can't be longer.. It's quite annoying to be honest..

I agree about the length of the movie. With LOTR, heck even going back to Dances with Wolves, we've proven that we're willing to sit through long movies. Bring back the intermission I say. I am disappointed that they choose to cut storyline to make a shorter film.

For the GOF I liked it much better than POA, but there still little changes to the storyline that I just don't understand why they make them. For instance in the beginning and the people who were in the house (trying not to give away anything to those who haven't seen it). Plus, some of the stuff they left out is very pertinent to book 5 and so now they'll have to take time to explain it in the 5th movie because some of it they can't leave out (i.e. Rita). I sincerely hope they don't try to cram book 5 into a 2 hour and 15 minute movie.

I know I'm in the minority (at least that's how it seems to me) but I liked Chris Columus the best as director. Columbus was a true fan of the book and I think that shows in the movies and how they really do stay very true to the book. Yes he could have made them a little darker, but the books really don't get that dark until the third and fourth book anyway. Cuaron admitted he had never read any of the books. That just blew me away. I just don't think you can do the movies justice if you aren't as avid about the series as us readers are. Can you imagine LOTR if Jackson hadn't read the books?

I saw it I liekd it but some of my favorite parts of the book liek the bickering and all that was cut out also whats with viktor actualy being cute. he's nose was completly straight as aposed to crooked as it shoudl of been. and then the house elves where was bartys house elf at the world cup and the holding peopel up in tghe air while they set the dark mark. I dno I just foudn all thos emissingf parts annoying. but otherwise ya it was good.
