The Real Amber Nectar

This is more a song than poetry (there's a chorus) but I thought you'd like it all the same.

There's a drink they make in Scotland,
It's name is Irn-Bru
The packaging is hard to miss
With striking orange and blu

You can buy it in big plastic bottles
Or smaller ones made out of Glass
Or even in cans, there are plenty of fans
Of this drink that has plenty of Class

Oh, Mister Barr, we think you're a Star
And the drink that you make is just great
Cos' it's full of Caffeine, and Sugar, and Fizz
And ammonium Ferric Citrate

It's the favourite drink in Alba,
even counting beer and whisky
It's said to be a great hangover cure
and is known to make some people frisky

It's the Scottish top soft drink (or soda)
Even outselling Pepsi and Coke
Although some Heathens say that the plasticky taste,
really makes them want to go and boak

(Chorus)

Now there's something I think I should tell you.
Something that I'm obliged to mention
That dastardly stuff they call "Diet Irn-Bru"
Isn't worthy of any attention.
