Gerry Butler no contest!! Any Scot whose got the balls to even try to run for James Bond after Sir Sean has got to be worth a look! But I for one have to say that I am very, very impressed with the range and talent of today's Scottish actors, namely Robert Carlyle (has anyone see his Go Now performance?), Ewan McGregor (who has every right to show off his kit if you ask me), John Hannah who always brings a laugh to the table, Dougray Scott for being Prince Charming in Ever After, and Billy Connolly as well is quite talented, but I've only seen him in Mrs. Brown and have never been exposed to his comedic work.

Oh btw...I too was not that particularly fond of Rob Roy. Thought the sex scenes didn't really need to be so sexy in that film...

Sean Connery definately gets my vote. I've seen him in many things and can only think of one off hand that I didn't like him in. I can't remeber the title right now but it was the one with Catherine Zetta Jones. I liked her in "The Mask of Zorro" so I am of the opinion that it was the director or the writer or the producer or a combination of the the three that was at fault for that movie.

I think you're talking about "Entrapment". Actually, that's one of my favourite Sean films!

Red face Sean Connery

I am sorry but i don't think is a very good actor, maybe if he didn't use the same accent in every role he plays i might feel differently!!!!! I have never seen a Russian nuclear submarine captain with a scottish accent before! LOL

For me, Billy Boyd. But then I loved him as Pippin in Lord of the Rings, and he's one of my favorite actors now, so it's no surprise. But others on the list are Robbie Coltrane(I love watching Cracker), Sean Biggerstaff, Ewan McGregor and Sean Connery.
