Bits of a song

Many years ago, our sheep roamed free,
...
They burnt our But 'n' Bens,
...
They shaved the beards of our mothers,
With razors made of bronze,
They stole all our good LPs,
And ate all the potato scones,

But in the fields beneath that Scottish sky,
We sang Bonnie Scotland - hoots och aye

Our favourite place to visit is our local discotech,
I go there with my buddies Big Tam and Wee Eck,
We dance until our feet are sore and then we have a drink,
Sometimes we have a drink too much and throw up in the sink,

But in the fields beneath that Scottish sky,
We sang Bonnie Scotland - hoots och aye

All the most patriotic Scotsmen,
Live in Canada or Australia

He's a Canadian actor who is well-know around the world, including Scotland.

And for your information there aren't more than one way of of being Scots - although I accept that you call yourself Scots-Canadian or Scots-American or Scots Australian etc ..... The simple truth is: unless you were born here or brought up here - you ain't a Scot

Soooo.... because your name is Kennedy, that makes you a Scot? Naaaah, it doesn't work like that. How can YOU define what constitutes the native of a country where you have no immediate ties?

What passport do you travel on? Canadian? Then you're a Candian who may be of Scots ancestry but that's the extent of it. Unless of course, both parents were Scots and then you could, possibly, refer to yourself as half Scots

Still, if you want to visit, we'll give you a warm welcome as someone with ties to Scotland.
