Caledonian Comfort

I've lived off of this hard harsh land since before I was born
My mother tended cattle, my father ran the farm
And now they've gone from this life and I've become a man
So I watch this empty farmstead and do the best I can

I've watched the sun set many times and how the world has changed
I still live a simple life and I'll live it to my grave
These mountains know my story, there's no secret I can keep
My soul belongs to this hard land, my heart amoung the trees
And I will walk amoung these mountains
And I'll fly above the sea
As long as I see Scotland
That will comfort me

No matter what life throws at me
No matter if I die
My soul with always sing to me
Beneath the Highland sky

I've breathed this heady northern air since nineteen twenty one
I've watched our land be torn from us, I've watched freedom begun
One day I'll see the shackles fall, one day our flag unfurled
And the lion will run rampant across the whole damn world
Then all will know this sweet heartland, the world will know it's roar
And we'll know and love our neighbours as we never have before
Though no longer united, no longer joined in chains
There will be strength in solitude and many new plans made
And I will walk these mountains
And I'll fly above the sea
As long as I see Scotland
That will comfort me

No matter what life throws at me
No matter if I die
My soul with always sing to me
Beneath the Highland sky

That's lovely! Chilling and perfect for the mood I'm in.
