penned, or at least, though up on a cloudy night, about a year after splitting up with a long term (3.5 years) girlfriend, having just been at a ceilidh (scottish dancing party)

Cloudgazing

I'm feeling lonely
Or is it just self pity ?
I seem to be the only man alone
They've all got someone
Someone oh, so pretty
I wish I had a girl to call my own

But like a cloud can soon bring rain,
I might get hurt again
But maybe the next one has a silver lining
I feel I need someone
Who'll be just like the sun
And instead of rainy days, I'll see it shining.

Ahem, I stand corrected. Never too old to learn new tricks. hehe
So Andrew, you do have a "cheesy" heart after all. {I notice you make a lot of references to cheese} <just teasing>

Nice poem.

Just doing this to keep the thing fresh, so as more people can read it (shame on me)

Cheese , or cheesy is used over here to denote that something is twee, kitsch, corny, cringeworthy.

Lots of disco music form the 70s is now regarded as cheesy, for example.

And yes, I do like cheese.

I still like the disco music that I grew up with in the 70's.

Of course I have learned to appreciate lots of other music since then.

And Yes I like Cheese too!!

Disco? Cheesy? Never!!! Why, I was a club hopping, disco dancing, babe! <tee hee> But, I could never dance with those 5 inches of platform shoes on. Now that's cheesy.

I like cheese too. White extra sharp cheddar cheese, please.
(mmmm, "something is twee?"....I like it!)
