I watched you walk away
We never even said goodbye
Did you think you could hide your fear
I saw it
My heart skipped a beat
You always seemed so brave
I remember when you first ran to me
You were so little then
Now you are only a memory
Someday I will hold you again
Sleep well my friend

Don't be afraid to reveal even more. You have a highly emotionally evoking subject here and I (personally, as a reader) want to know more.... you have skimmed over some of the most painful of feelings, let it spill out, let it stain the paper.

Alpin's right, you just barely touched the surface. You still have some deeply hidden feelings. Poetry is for release.
