You could do worse than the Selkirk Grace by Robert Burns;

Some hae meat that canna eat,
And some wad eat that hae none,
But we hae meat and we can eat
So thank the Lord for gaen's some.

p.s. "Meat" in Scots means food, not flesh.

The version of the Selkirk Grace I know is

"some hae meat and canna eat
And some wad eat but want it
but we hae meat, and we can eat
and sae the Lord be thankit"

As Neil says, "meat" just means food, to want something doesn't just mean to desire it, but to be lacking it, and "thankit" means thanked. Sae is pronounced like "say" and means so.

Rough trnalsation. "there are those with food who can't eat, and there are those who are hungry and have no food. But we have food and can eat it, so thank the Lord for this."

I'm pretty sure mine's closer than Neil's, but I could be wrong.

No, I'm right, I looked it up. Sorry Neil.

I bow to your superior knowledge (and access to reference books which I sadly lack in my current situation).
