Whaur dae ye go,
When th' sky grows mirk?
Whaur travels yer heart?
Th' pub or th' kirk?
Whaur is yer hame?
Th' house o' yer kin?
What's in a name?
Yer truth or yer sin?

Yer family, yer blood,
Yer kith an' yer kin
Yer country, yer aen air
Yer ties ne'er thin.
B'lieve me, I know
Been there, done that
The abscence of snow
Is a grieviance tae ma heart.

Intellect is a grand thing. Exercising it should never prove futile. Critiquing is an ability not everyone can master for they tend to get wrapped up in their personal amour-propre. It is not difficult to see these message boards have become a small "family" of sorts where people can share their words of insight and love of poetry. If you dislike a poem, that is one thing. But to arbitrarily discount based on what you feel is "convoluted" or "incomplete" is not criticism, it's just downright egregious.
Brightest Blessings!

Nice piece, Niamh...good mastery of th' "lallans" Scots dialect. Nomad--how's grad school? ("Egregious"? Haven't heard that in years...)
