This about a dear friend who really loved this woman, but she turned her back for finer things when the simplest would have made her so much more the happier.
============================================= You walk blindly toward his hand You walk blindly toward this man I see movitations I see desire I see you Do you see me as I see He cannot dream or show what I know My love, don't follow the shadow of your heart I am here within the fire Bright Clear Burning My hand waiting to whisk you over seas A world anew Dreams to Dreams Mountains and Flowers to bloom In my hand I hold the world No shadow can tame your fire I still glow Waiting for your soul. ------------------ "When you collect the things that embody strength for you, when you put them together, when you open yourself to let each speak, you will know something about the sources of your strength." --Starhawk |

Orinocoflow, I loved this poem. Here you have a man describing his undying love for a woman, who does not see how much he has to offer her.
I know this has nothing to do with poetry but, I'm going to ask anyway. Where are you from? I live in Atalnta, Ga. I'm 16, hope you don't mind. I can't write poetry, I can read it however. I loved this poem, talk to you later.

I live in Richmond, VA. Although, I live in the city. I am a country gal. I moved to the city when I was about 10. I rather prefer the country but I am kinda stuck here now.
I am 22. I am glad you liked my poem. You have to be the first person who has commented on a poem I wrote and posted in here. I thought I was writing in vain. Hello ladies, in Virginia & Atlanta? I have just recently been to both.
I rarely comment on poetry, but I like your poem. It has passion. One can see that you as the writer can clearly identify with the subject (at least I think ). Keep writing.Nomad |

I've been reading your poems too! I may not comment on them, but I'm starting to. I also enjoy reading them. I use to write poetry when I was in high school. I put it away, but recently have had feelings to begin again. Along with encouragement from someone else. But please don't stop! I'll try to make comments more regularly.
I saw you had posted some of Robert Burns' poems. I've been thinking of buying his biography. Do you have any books on him? Talk to you later. [This message has been edited by Becca (edited 31 October 1999).] |

I don't have a biography on him. I have never been too deeply interested in people's lives as I am into computers amd fiction. I do make time to read about that sort of stuff every now and again.
I love books. I think I got too eager, and I should have posted those poems all together instead of individually. I am huge fan of Lord Byron, William Bulter Yeats, Shelley, Keats, & numerous others. Burns is the only Scot poet I know of that I read about in Literature class in High School. I have been digging around the WWW to find out about other Scot Poets. I am glad you guys are reading. It is sometimes hard to know if someone read my poem or not. I love writing, I would probably keep posting even if no one commented =). I just get a bit discouraged....I dunno...that human sense telling you are alone when you aren't... Oh well....
