Anyone like W.H. Auden or W.B. Yeats? I DO!!!! If you've seen Four Weddings and a Funeral, you know the poem that Matthew reads at the funeral? I love it. i fell in love with it the very first time i heard it. It's not one of Auden's more famous ones, but it's good. I think it's called, Two Songs for Hedli Anderson. You should go read it.

Hi there!

I've seen the film bu can't recall the poem
I'll have to read it though sometime if you say it's good
I like poetry in general and also write a bit of my own. My favs are Byron, Shelley, Rossetti, Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Burns...and so on. I haven't really read anything from Auden, though I have heared of the name. I'll check in to that poet, I'm sure he's great!

yes! read it, i like it. and it rhymes, so it's easier to like. i haven't read much byron or rossetti, but the other 4 i have. you write poems? that's cool! i like writing stories, i also compose music, but i won't get into that in this thread! what are your poems about? what form are they in? yeah, Auden's poem from the movie is not his most famous one, but i think it should be! it's a hidden gem as of now.

I like Auden better than Yeats.

Please excuse me for sounding flippant, but do you guys ever read any poetry written by other than dead white guys?

I read modern day poetry aswell, but most of it is not much to my liking. Mostly I fancy the amateur poets, they have great hidden talents. I read a lot over the net, such as http://www.poetry.com and so on...I also have quite a lot of friends who write poetry and even have won contests.
One of ther few modern day poets I like is John O'Donohue. He's more of a philosopher.

Hi KT843!

I've posted some of my poems under the thread 'Just a wee poem'. You can go and have a look at them if you like.

Oh and I just had an email from a website where I posted my poetry some time ago, saying that one of my poems will be published in a collection. It's mostly indian poets, I'm told and it will be published in India first. They wanted poems with the subject of humanity. He says he'll send me a copy as soon as it's printed. I'm so happy about that!

Do you write poetry, or just stories?
I trying myself on a novel for four years now...
