My conjecture is, if I simply post a poem written by myself, then the debate shall proceed from there. Simply becasue I have my beliefs of what poetry should be does not imply that I believe my poetry to be submlime; quite teh contrary. I only assay to write sublime poetry, but only the public can christen a poem Submile or Putrid.
Also, I will to make a note: If ever in the debate, it appears that I am being purposely offensive, then e-mail me if you wish, but be assured that such offensiveness shall nto not have been my intentions. AN ANNUNCIATION TO A WILLING LOVER If I should forever be rid of my wit, Would you, in your fairness, be apt to remit What you, beneficient, would gaily admit In times when gregarious I seemed to be? Whatever, (considering all that you say Is verity proven and proved to allay), Would foment your reasoning long to delay Your loving my colour, e'en my reticence? If I was inept, once again and fore'er, To galvanise laughter; to cause you to stare Into my eyes languid, could you ever bare To finish our oath till that Death shall us part? I therefore implore lover, love me nor for The sham that I am, nor my fancy for lore; Endeared be ye not by my eyes that wax sore, For they are the gates to my morbid alcove. Whomever you be, if at all you exist, I pray you abscond from the dreams I've dismissed. Though ever and anon sweet kisses I've kissed, 'T is Reticent my repute proves me to be. |
