Hello, I hope this is the right place to ask this......can somebody tell me where I may find the words to the poem Teir Na Nog......(Hope I spelled it right too)...or any other poem that I could recite for my daughter before bed time. We both thank all of you very much for your help..

Is this what you are looking for? I found it at:

http://thepoeticlink.com/pl/view_one...?poem_num=6450

Tir na Nog (Tier na Nocht)

In Tir na Nog our dreams did die
In rivers of blood, a rising tide.
Flashing steel won no day,
Reavers strong lost their way
. . . at Tir na Nog

In Tir na Nog we formed a hedge,
A silvered curtain, a graven edge.
Panicked screams, in hopeless flight,
Children ran through the night
. . .from Tir na Nog

From Tir na Nog we are long fled,
Disparate, lost, with listless tread,
Paths returning to remembered dreams.
The chosen few still guard the seams
. . . to Tir na Nog

Additional Notes:
Tir na Nog is Irish Gaelic, this poem is the result of a "riddling contest" between me and another writer, who happens to be Irish and speaks Gaelic (what a koinkydink!). The words in parenthesies are an approximation of how to correctly say Tir na Nog, though the T sound in Tir is more of a T spoken on top of a D (is it any wonder 'bout no one speaks this language?). I hope the pronunciation guide helps.

Wink Thanks....but

Well thanks for the poem, but the one that I am looking for is about fairies and the land of eternal youth. I think that if I were to tell this to my daughter before bed time that she would have nightmares....no offense though....I ejoyed it! I can't seem to think of the name of the poem, but I do know that it is a Scottish poem. thanks anyway I think that I will look it up on that web sight you gave.......Laters!!

That seemed a little harsh for a child. Glad that's not the one you wanted. But it was interesting Monco. Thanks for sharing.

Hi LonelyintheUSA -

I was not able to find the poem you are looking for. But I did find a very pretty site with poems about 'Pegasus' [see if you find them suitable for your child].
