Andy,

Thanks for reply. I've been reading over some of the exchanges between different people at this Forum. I'm amazed at a general impression: How much every Scot seems to love his country...and countryside. My parents went to Scotland for their 25th anniversary and fell in love with the place, They went to Stirling - said it was beautiful. My mom took several photographs.

She seemed to think the statue at the bottom of the Stirling/William Wallace monument looked a tad like Mel Gibson??? She didn't photograph that - she went for the one in the town square I believe.

What's camping like when the rains come in? What months do you camp? What kind of wildlife do you have to deal with if you're camping? Honestly I don't envision annoying insects for some reason. But surely you have them.

I can't believe you haven't been to the Festival. Any particular reason? Your infor suggests you are a small town kind of a guy - am I right?

Seraphine,
I've never been to the festival as I'm not really into that kind of stuff.I'm more into stuff like fishing, camping etc.I camp anytime from April through to September. This summer has been one of the wettest I can remember so I've not done as much this year as I normally do.There is not too much wildlife that you need to worry about except we have a small mosquito like insect called a midge which can leave you covered in itchy bites. There are no dangerous animals except for adders which are extremely rare.

Andy,

Hope you get this - I'm having trouble manuveuring my communication (actually retrieving info is my problem)...Black adder - the television show...how rare are they? Have you run into one?

Why do I often go back to threads and only see old messages? No new ones? I'm confused.

Seraphine

Another possible reason that you don't see any new messages is that there are none. I have noticed that several of the discussion boards tend not to be very active.
