Not too many class offerings outside of Scotland. There are several at home courses using tapes and books. I like Hugo's Scottish Gaelic in 3 months. It is best to have the tapes for proper pronunciation. Even with phonetic spelling, difficult to pronounce words correctly. You might check out www.acgamerica.org - Gaelic organization in US. It does list some places where classes are held. Also check out www.geocities.com/heartland/lane/6516/ -- click on "speaking our language - Gaelic lessons". This site includes audio for some introductory phrases. One last thing, try to get a hold of book entitled Everyday Gaelic by Morag MacNeill - excellent source, tho no tapes - just phonetic spelling. Hope this helps.

In reading through the threads at 'Language', I've come across this one.
I thought it would be a good idea to bring to the top More recent postings) because of its relevance to the question of whether we think we want a new forum on 'Learning Gaelic', so that newer members can be aware that this was being asked a couple of years and more ago.

David.

Do we want to start some rudimentary lessons here (talking about it)
or is there another location?
