Armstrong motto in Scottish Gaelic
Does anyone know the Scottish Gaelic translation of the Armstrong clan motto "Invictus Maneo" or "I/We remain unconquered"? Seems odd to have it in Latin considering the Romans were hardly friendly with the border clans.
I've read before that it's "Tha mi/sinn a' maireann neo-ch́osnaichte" Does this look right? Thanks for any help!! |

They might also be able to tell you why their Slogan is in Latin . |

If you practice this pronounciation you should be able to pass as a Gaelic speaking native.
Tha - Ha – pronounce like “ha” in hat Mi - Me – like “me” in English Sinn - Shuin - u as in “up” in English Maireann - marren Neo - no (short o) Chiosnaichte - ch/osh/ne/ce - ch as pronounced in loch/osh as in cosh/ne as in net/ce as in kelt |
