Are you a fluent speaker? If so where did you learn?

Oh no not at all, we are merely preparing for my grandfather who has been very sick. I appreciate you all being so willing to help!

Sorry to hear about your grandfather. It's a horrible feeling, sort of waiting for someone to die.

Looking for words in a foreign language which neither you nor he understands seems odd.

Well my great grandfather spoke gaelic(or so I have been told) and my grandfather spent many years researching his family in Scotland, of course most of his research was stored mentally, so he has trouble remembering it but I thought it would be nice to commemorate his devotion. It doesn't seem strange to me or my family, sorry if you feel that way.

Celyn, thank you. Suprisingly he is doing well right now but I have heard it gets better before taking a drastic turn for the worst. Of course I pray that this is not true.
