Scots Syntax

Hiya,

I'm a German student preparing a thesis on Scots syntax at the moment but my problem is that it's hard to find any books or websites about it. Can you please tell me what peculiarities there are in Scots syntax which can't be found in other dialects of English? The only thing I found was the double modal construction and that's not enough for my thesis.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kat

I must say that your English is excellent and I was particularly impressed by the use of "Hiya".

As for your thesis, why don't you make contact with the Scots Language departments of the universities here (the older ones) ? I'm sure there'll be some member of staff who could point you in the right direction. That said, in my day, students did their own research.
