Gaelic

Having just come back from the republic of Ireland: i was amazed to see the enormous efforts and majority view in making Gaelic their first language.

It really made me aware of how important cultural independence can be to the development of a nation's self esteem and self worth. The republic of Ireland has so much going for it and the people have a new sense of confidence in who they are.

I pray with all my heart that Scotland's people can have the courage to find the same for themselves and that Gaelic in Scotland won't be funded as a minority "eccentricity" by the BBC until it finally fades away.

When are we going to wake up and see the reality of what is happening to Scotland?
