We live in Anglesea, a small town which is a popular surfing destination on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia ( about 100km from Melbourne). With a surname of Laird (the forebears came from Wick) I would like to give our house an appropriate Gaelic name! I did consult with my Glaswegian son-in-law but his suggestions were very long and very nearly unpronouncable! In my research on the web for ideas I came across this web site and am hoping someone can come up with some good ideas for me! It would also be very helpful if there was some indication as to the correst pronounciation - my Gaelic is non existent. I look forward to some interesting replies!

So long as you don't name it taigh beag I think you're safe.

Thanks for the suggestions- enjoying them all - house is wood ( impregnated pine!) and built up on poles in order to get the view of the ocean. Keep the ideas coming - haven't convinced the Husband yet! Oh and I am desperate for pronounciation guidelines - not much use if i cannot tell anyone what it is!!!!
