In another thread:
http://www.scotland.com/forums/showt...threadid=19777 ... this wee exchange took place. heathen Native said: scots who type in their accent (?) make my blood boil it stereotypes us as morons. and then Neil_Caple Moderator replied: Why? Does one have to speak "proper" English to not be a moron? Personally I find poor spelling, grammar and punctuation more "moronic" than spikkin guid braid Scots. I have three pieces of advice for you: 1. Get over your cringe. 2. Don't ever go to http://www.firstfoot.com as you may explode with boiling blood. 3. Awa an bile yer heid! ------------------------------------- Now, what do you think? Does it appear moronic, or is it cringeworthy? |

I think it's unnecessary to type the way that you speak.
If it's allowed is txt talk allowed? Can I start typing in Scouse as that's my local dialect? My accent in real ife is a mixture of Scouse/Scottish I sound flipping dreadful IMHO. |
