Question

Hey- What does "Buachailli na Locha" mean? I'm pretty sure it's gaelic. It's the title of a tune, and I have no idea what it means.

Well, I am a bloody beginner, but I am quite sure it means "Cowherd of the Loch". I hope it is right, but wait for another reply to reassure I gave the right answer.

Although "Buachaille" can mean cowherd, it probably means
"the shepherd of the loch", although it might mean "the cowherd of the loch" .

Buachaille can mean "cowherd", "herd-keeper/herdsman" and "shepherd". Although the full name for "shepherd" would be buachaille-chaorach.

Wow - I am also happy - I thought it was the shepherd of the loch, but was going to check it before I'd post it. (Pats self on head)

Well done Steaphan
