Whatever England wants to do has sod all to do with me. It's for the people of England to decide, not for anyone else.

It is very strange that someone would ask about English independence on a forum about Scotland. Having said that, I have a few friends south of the border (tho not too far south) who would like to have their own parliament like us and the Welsh as they don't feel that Westminster even meets the needs of those in the north of England. The truth of the matter is that it is always the extreme south that ultimately decides which party gets in to power and that they (no matter which one) really only look after the needs of that end of the country. So, with all that in mind, I personally think the northern half of England should look at breaking away from the south, whether this is with full independence or a devolved parliament of their own is up to them and not anyone in Scotland (and definitely not anyone elsewhere)!

i think the question was posed very tongue n cheek really.

westminster has always been southern-centric so no wonder the rest of the country want more devolved power

Tongue in cheek? Well, who'd have thought that was possible given the OP!

That aside, they were still valid responses to the question asked and this after all is a discussion forum! Or does that not apply to dulhill's posts?

I agree with PS's comments; I too have friends (and family) south or the border and the general consensus seems to be that England should also look at whether Westminster is sufficient to cater for their needs! Whether that's one or two devolved/independent parliaments is something I think they should seriously look at!

replying to a post in any discussion forum "sod all to do with me" is not entering into the discussion at all is it?...and hardly a valid response to any question asked.

if people have nothing to say then they say just that....nothing.

what if we all joined scotsites or scotgaits and replied to every topic we're not interested in "sod all to do with me"?....would you be happy?...i doubt it because its troll like rudeness.

at least you n PS actually addressed the question

just sayin likesy
