New Zealand and Scotland

Well, then again there are the sheep! Democracy is not perfect but it does bring hope. A vote for the "Democratic Renaissance" and the right to express oneself without cheap remarks!

Democratic Renaissance my arse !

Democracy is governance of the people by the people (so they say) but it is also survival of the fittest and de'il tak the hindmost (ie no social conscience) !

Communism is the best in theory but impossible in practice, due to the human factor.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian revolution has resulted in toppling The Egyptian leader, the toppling of the Tunisian leader, large demands for government change in Iran, Yemen, Algeria and even tiny Bahrain (where unbelievably, protesters have been shot dead !)

There was even a (peaceful) demonstration here in Muscat at the Ministries district last week about pay rises/conditions for locals (not enough to get that second Merc no doubt !)

I don't mind democracy just so long as it doesn't produce theocracy.
