Tories promise to f**k the NHS.

Actually, the Tories promised to protect front line services but have just told the NHS to find £15 to £20 billion in spending cuts from an approximate annual budget of £80 billion. A quarter less...

As the austerity philosophy moves the poor towards Dickensian times, one begins to think the Tories are doing a spot of evolution gaming. The resulting survival of the fittest should clear out a lot of the 'dead wood' leaving only the employable alive after the holocaust.

I myself fancy a spot of evolution gaming with the Tories. Lets have a revolution and make them all poor, apply their own 'new' (ha ha...) ideas to them and see how many of them resort to crime and drugs to survive. I say resort to as if they're strangers to it but having seen their expenses fiddling and their dubious parliamentary practices, I'm sure they're already old hands at the corruption thingy.

Labour... bunch of sad sacks happy to be in opposition.

The Tories have asked several Government departments to find cuts of 25% and while I'm not an economist I have a basic grasp of Keynesian economics which states that slashing public spending causes the economy to shrink and increases unemployment which in the long term is costly and counter productive. Obviously there have to be cuts but wholesale slashing of public spending on the scale the Tories are talking about is going to create hardship for a lot of people. The Lib Dems don't seem to be saying much on the matter but it seems a bit perverse to me that you have a party that claims to be left of centre and pro social democracy supporting policies that are going to have such an adverse effect on the worst off in society.

The LibDemTories only care about the PR vote and everybody else can go die (literally).

To cut the NHS budget (already not the most generous by any means in Europe) by up to 25% is going to result in deaths, much as it did in the 1980s with Thatcher's idle hands working their own particular magic.

Not much to choose between Thatcher & Blair, both were a couple of sabre-rattling power-mad nutcases who consigned thousands of their fellow human beings, from Cape Horn to the Gulf, into oblivion. Who killed the most? probably Blair! wullie m

Has this country ever had a more supine, chinless wonder than Cameron for a PM, schmoozing his way around the US, leaving not an arse unlicked. Real Cameron's must be revolving in their graves. wullie m
