Kikes? I wasn't aware that racist comment was still around, haven't heard it for years, ever since the hate laws went into effect. Just how far back in the old southern type racist slang books did they go?
What could be termed comical almost is the marching Muslims rallying with the Klu Klux Klan. I hear they flock to rallies against Jews. Odd bedfellows? Kike was a common Klan term yet it looks to be an Asian guy carrying the placard, ie Philippino type. Not to profile or anything lol! But it does look bloody odd to see a term oft used by Neos on his placard.

What is the use of intelligence when one lacks compassion for the life around oneself? And what is the point of beauty, when one's heart isn't one's loveliest feature?

Oh yeah. It's around. But these people aren't uneducated hillbillies, Wild-inTent. These bags of shyte are supposed to be the enlightened, well educated types. You know, similar to our very own Hezzie supporters on this board.

Pretty disgusting lot if you ask me...

You realise that the guy with the placard could easily be a bulgarian/croat/greek/spanish, not to mention, neither ? I find it ironic that in one part of the post you are decrying racist slang terms and on the other you are racially profiling someone based on your idea of what race this dude is supposed to be.
Besides, i dont know where you got the 'marching muslims' comment from- we had a silent march against Israel in one of the Vancouver university campuses last thursday and most of whom showed up we definately not 'muslims'.
There are many many non-Muslims who are disgusted by Israel's latest bloodbath. I see why you have to give it a religious twist but i am sure many here see through that angle as plain as daylight.

Let me see if you can get this : Most of the 'enlightened, well educated types' are left leaning. Most of the left leaning arnt necessarily the 'enlightened well educated types'.
Besides, you'll find that most neutrals in this conflict (ie, from south asia/east asia/latin america/caribbean etc who havnt been involved in this conflict and in areas where the conflict hasnt had a historic huge media profile) are far more critical of Israel than most westerners, particularly Americans and british, who've very clearly 'picked a side' in this.

Sure, focus on the racist slur on one placard-it's a convenient way of avoiding the fact that the rally is to highlight a serious issue. Israel's response to the declaration of an imminent cease fire was to step up its bombing campaign this morning. Petrol stations are going to be non-existent in Lebanon by the time the Israelis have finished. It is pure vindictive badness not done out of any military necessity-there is nothing to be gained from continually pounding Lebanese urban areas. Israel is without question the baddest nation on the planet and I think even those who support them must have some realisation that they have really overstepped the mark this time. Never mind Hezbollah-they're a side issue now-it's an assault on an entire nation and its economic infrastructure.

Well said.
I've mentioned before that Israel's objective is also to destroy Lebanon's infrastructure- it is not in Israeli interests to have Lebanon prosper when they are a nation dependent on American handouts - in today's world, the ultimate power (atleast, for not the absolute bigshots who use their guns to maintain their economic status quo) is economy: that will get the west and the affluent tied to you and that is what will dictate the smaller nation's power struggles. Israel is heavily dependent on its jewish and fundie christian lobbies to gloss over its attrocities in places like Britain,Canada, US,Australia, etc. to continue getting support-both moral and financial.
Lebanon is threatening that status quo by the proliferation of Lebanese business interests and an overall much stronger economic potential than Israel. This little bloodbath of Israel will further fuel the unrest in Lebanon and set its infrastructure back by decades. That alone will prevent Lebanon from developing one of its main economic money earners- tourism. And all they figured would cost Israel is a few soldiers and few civillians as it usualls has.
