LMAO! Brits to French: You suck!

French are rudest, most boring people on earth: British poll

Quote:
To add insult to injury, British newspaper The Daily Telegraph put the boot in on Saturday by saying in an editorial that the French stank.

"The French may like to think that Chanel No 5 is their scent but we all know that garlic and stale Gitanes are much more representative."

Well, at least the USA made the top 10 of some part of this poll! I wonder if that's something to celebrate? LOL

Did they ask any French people their opinions of their country?

I spent 3 days in France, not long enough to really develop an opinion one way or the other but I didn't encounter anyone I felt was particularly rude. . . I can say that I HAVE encountered many in my own country that are rude.

The irony is without French help at Yorksville or the Louisana purchase, the USA would be completely different, and perhaps neither independent, nor from sea to shining sea.

So why do the Americans loathe the French so much?

Napoleon III was all for intervening in the American civil war on the side of the Confederacy and only the British prevented him from doing so. If he'd had his way the United States might not even exist today. The current anti-French sentiment is borne out of a general suspicion and mistrust of Europeans and the outspoken French opposition to the war in Iraq makes them public enemy number one in the eyes of many Americans.

Without the french there would most definetly be no united states of america, america would still be a british colony.
bizzarely americans think a handful of farmers defeated the british navy the most advanced nazy in the world at that time they fail to mention that it was actually the french who brought britain to its knees at that point of time.
personally france is one of my favourite countries i like the people, the culture and the food.
and i may choose to live there with friends next year.
