Another info site to use for information on NZ earthquakes, volcanoes etc is GeoNet – Home this is reasonably user friendly to use, although with specific regard to Christchurch, the site mentioned earlier christchurchquakemap is extremely user friendly.

I am north of Wellington so am not affected by christchurch quakes.

They are still having so many quakes everyday which is concerning, no sign of them ceasing in the short term.
