What have the people of Scotland done to deserve the wrath of the "Powers that be" to take away their Human right to go on chatting in their beloved Chat Room.

It is a sad day in the annals of Scottish History and in future years the 23rd April will be rememberd as well as Cullodin.

Too choked up to continue.

Unhappy Ironic?

Aye, it's more than a little ironic that our scotland.com chat should be taken down on St.George's day!

Unhappy Human Rights

Speaking of Human Rights. I was reading about Sheriff Gow taking a little boy from Troon and giving him over to babysitter. Family may not see or talk to him for 2 years.
To me their human rights have been violated seriously. I read this in the Daily Record, Friday April 6,2001. My stomach is sick over this and I hope to read soon that he has been returned to his biological family, whom I know personally and love dearly as kind and wonderful people.
A mistake was made and now the sheriff doesn't know how to get out of it or doesn't care. A child's human rites are violated and how sad...he is too young to speak for himself and those in authority are not so kind to him after all.

I have altered your home page address, you forgot to put in the // , so have done that for you.

Not heard of the case above as I do not get the Daily Record. If the fact that a mistake has been made surely the best thing to do is write to the Editor of thr Raily Record and ask if they will do a follow up in this matter.
The Press often hes the power to get things moving.
I hope for a speedy end to the affair.

Ah, don't worry, Tejasmujer!!!

Look at the date on Marhar's original post in the thread. The thing is - there used to be a chat room as well as this message board, i.e. one where we could all chat in "real time" online, but it closed, in fact, in April 2001. (There were chatrooms for all of the Virtual Countries sites, but I am sure ours was the best - I am definitely sure it tended to be the busiest, and that was fun, as people from other sites often came to join in.)

Now, there *were" rumours concerning the closure of the VCI message boards but we have heard nothing of that for quite a while, so I *think* we are safe for the moment! Fingers crossed.

LOL - it seems that this thread frightened Texasmujer, and it set me too opening it as fast as I could, alarmed as to what this huge human right was! Heheh - now if only this happened to be April Fools Day, I would feel well and truly fooled. Um, even more than I already do, that is.

(edited only to repair some typos - aarrgghh - today's lesson is "never try to type while having the evil toothache")
