My old man was heavily involved in it. He came from Kilwinning which is the Mother lodge number one in Scotland. I have a few masonic antiques probably dating from the Victorian era that might be worth a bit of money but masonry isn't something that ever really appealed to me.

Me neither. I dad wasn't into it but for some reason, my brother joined, probably though invitation from a curling club colleague.

My uncle was a chaplain to a mason lodge too and horror of horrors, I got a secret sneak peek at a masonic bible ! Most mysterious ! I remember also when my dad, brother and I had our trio in the 1960's/70's, we used to play ceilidhs for various Highland societies, often in masonic halls in Edinburgh. I remember mainly the one in Hill St (New Town), the big eye staring down at you on the stage !
