Question

What are your opinions on the English and England? I've heard stories in the past about English people being beaten up and seriously intimidated by native Scotts. I also read once, that a Scottish man wouldn't take his English wife and children to Glasgow because of the hostility towards the English up there. Why do some Scottish people persist in attacking the English either verbally or physically over things we have no power over... you're arguement is with the UK parliament, not us. I don't mean to affend in anyway, but i find it offensive to read anti-English stuff relating to things like how we "control you" or how we "over shadow" you or also stuff like how we "force" English culture upon you, when actually it's the English culture which is has all those things being done towards it... thanks to the stupid idiots in the UK PARLIAMENT England is slowly dissolving away and it is WE who are becoming over shadowed by other cultures. More and more people in the North of England no longer consider themselves to be of English nationality... more and more ENGLISH citizens in Cornwall (Kernow) consider themselves to be of Cornish nationality and not English. It is us the English who are losing our identity as English... even the deputy PM says there is no such thing as being English, we have to call ourselves British-English! I believe that if some people on here really looked at both sides of the story, they would see BOTH Scotland and England are being over shadowed by the UK Parliament.

Nah, I think you'll find that "Scotts" is a company in Cupar that makes porridge oats. As for Scots beating up English people? Lots of times? Or just something from the occasional tabloid?

What a pity you think yor culture is being overshadowed. In what ways, I wonder?

Oh well, sort out an English parliament, then you might feel less threatened sat having things "forced" upon you, whatever these things are.

I hope that's not a hint of patronisation in your message there.

Many thanks for your response,

Well it is to do with English people getting attacked/intimidated in Scotland, and if i'm not mistaken i believe that is an infringement on their 'Human Rights' in 'Scotland'.

Are you suggesting that such attacks are legally sanctioned?

I really don't think that English people here go around in a constant state of terror, you know.

Of course not! I have a Scottish person here with me and she says that everytime she visits Scotland with English friends, they always suffer verbal abuse from Scottish friends. Are you trying to say that she is lying? Do you condone such actions?
