we get people coming from all the Isles around Scotland and many speak Gaelic only and I have never seen Gaelic signs in any of the government or council offices all over Scotland
there is every Asian ,Cantonese,Indian,Russian even Welsh
and many other eastern and european countrys, But Islanders coming to mainland have to learn English or they are ignored and be as well peein in the wind because Government offices dont cater for you,I think thats wrong, its pretty bad that we have to make it compulsory to learn english.
when does Scotland get rights or is the 21st century continuance of the genocide by London.

Genocide refers to killing. Unless you are referring to people from Westminster killing scots on a major scale you should pretty much stop talking now.

As for your signs, local signs are a matter for local councils, not LONDON! LOL! If there is a lack of gaelic signs around scotland I would suggest it is your own fault. Perhaps its not widely spoken enough?

Actually,

For any Language signs to be put up in official governement office, It has to be suggested and then agreed.

The language signs have to be passed through LONDON! This is because it's london that governs the offices.

I agree that it may be up to local authorities to place the sign in the street. But I don't think that was the intention of the post.

As you pointed out, they could learn Asian, Cantonese, Indian, Russian and even Welsh.

I have to agree with Sire-Chris, Perhaps Gaelic its not widely spoken enough to warrant the signs? Or surely there would be signs if enough people demanded it?
I find it hard though to see why you find it 'pretty bad' that you are 'made' to speak English but have no problem with a variety of 'foreign languages' displayed in your country.

I can't help but think its just another wee dig at the English!

"Genocide refers to killing."

Yes it does, but it can refer to the deliberate killing of a culture or a language... cultural genocide is something going on in many parts of the world.

"I have never seen Gaelic signs in any of the government or council offices all over Scotland"

The Scottish Parliament buildings use some.

"I can't help but think its just another wee dig at the English!"

Our colonizers...

If you are talking about the killing off of culture and language, make that distinction. The term genocide is a very inflammatory term that refers to murder on a grand scale and doesn't cover what you describe. And besides, the global force killing off most cultures is called westernisation and the biggest factor in this is the USA. Although none of this is forced upon us, more accepted by the youngsters.

You can mention one building with Gaelic? Go you. Although I can mention a building that uses scouse dialect on its signs. It was John Bearcat who was whinging about the lack of gaelic on public buildings, not me. Which, as I have already stated, is a matter for local governments. Not some government think tank designed to keep down the scots. You have been watching too much Braveheart.

"Our colonizers" (sic) I fail to see how you have ever been colonised by us. The act of union was instigated by your own king and you got a lot out of it. You can't just use all these big bad buzzwords and expect people to accept what you say.
