Create an instant bulletin board by recycling an old wooden shutter. Just turn it upside down, and stick notes and to-do lists between the slats.
Another place to keep office supplies neat and orderly: In the sections of an inexpensive flatware tray. Pens won't roll around in the drawer, rulers and paper clips will always be right where you left them. Use a simple wastepaper basket to keep rolls of gift wrap neat and opganized. Bright guest soaps look pretty stored in an inexpensive fishbowl, a cut-glass dessert bowl, or a large seashell. A flatware caddy is the perfect size for keeping extra hand towels at the ready in the guest bath! Looking for places to store jewelry? Try plaacing rings in a pill organizer and looping long beads over a tie rack. Free up some drawer space simply by hanging your rolling pins: just tie a sturdy string around the handles and loop them over a pair of picture hooks. Use a wine rack to keep tea towels and kitchen utensils close at hand. Double your storage space by hanging tote bags on a peg board and filling them with canned goods, pet food, boxes of cereal, and cleaning supplies. Everyone's got some extra s[ace above cabinets---use it to store rarely used, oversized trays, platters, bowls, and appliances. A ceiling high shelf is a great way to find more room for books! |
