Ok here's one

If you drop anything greasy on your clothes, dab dishwashing liquid on the spot before washing, will remove grease stain completely.

Tar and red wine are removed easily by rubbing salt and lemon juice into the spot.

THANKS SOOOO MUCH for the hint on how to remove tar. Just called mom to let her know. We had a misshap at home and her sofas ended up with some tar. She was soooo relieved to know she could remove it.
