stuff about scotland not found in tourist guides

I'm looking for interesting stuff about scotland that is not in the guide books or tourist sites about scotland. I'm looking for the gooeey,humouros, erotic, funny road signs, funny things in general historical or to date, stuff about scotland or about any places in scotland.
I have to give an interesting lecture about scotland in a course i'm taking! i want it to be humourous and remembered!!!

To be honest, I've never been that close to a tourist guide, can't say what they mention and what not...
you don't want suggestions for the serious stuff, I guess...there will be more than enough information everywhere...
which "extraordinary" things do you want to know?
