Question

Hello all; My first time here. I'm looking for a place, I think the name is, "Motherwell"? I'm not sure on that. I think my Grandfather's dad came from there.I think I was told the clan name was "Mcdonald" Again I could be wrong on that. I'm very proud to say my ancestory came from Scotland! I 'm just getting started though on the research end. His name by the way was Allan. Thankyou for any help anyone might have. Andrew

Welcome Allan. McDonald (and its variants) is a fairly common Scottish surname. I can tell you, however that Motherwell is in south west Scotland, just a little south of Glasgow. You'll find a map of the area at http://www.multimap.com/wi/17516.htm
