Question

I live in the US. I have been tracing my family tree for the past year. I have learned that I'm related to the Johnstones and I'm wondering if ther's still some that live in Scotland. The earliest Johnstone I've found is a James Johnstone born 1535, married Margaret Hamilton. The family is part of James Johnstone, 1st Earl of Annadale, Father of John Johnstone of Stapleton and Grandfather of Elizabeth Johnstone who married Thomas Kenan. I guess most of them lived in or close to Annadale, Scotland. I know a Major Percy Hope-Johnstone lived at Raehills, but I don't know exactly how he ties into the family. If ANYONE can offer some help, I sure would appreciate it !!!!!!! I've got it traced back a little past CHARLEMAGNE, IT'S BEEN VERY INTERESTING!!! I'm a "southern girl", I never had any idea that I was kin to famous people.
Thanks for any help possible!!!!!!!
Beth
