Question

i've been studying a lot about scotland lately, including poets. sir walter scott and robert burns were discovered quickly, but as i was reading a book, i came across two names i was familiar with, thomas the rhymer and tam lin. a book called fire and hemlock quoted them, and i had liked the lines, but thought the author had made them up! so i was quite excited to read about them.
i was hoping someone could tell me something about them? i've read stories by both of them (rhyme, poem, ballad...?) i can find basic info, but i was just wondering if maybe anyone knows anything extra? sorry i can't be specific, but i just don't have any! i'll be in scotland for a year next year, so hopefully i'll be able to look into the poets from scotland further, but i'd really appreciate any help!
