Post North Berwick Witch Trials: HELP!

Hello,

I'm doing some research on various witch trials in Scotland. Right now I'm working on the North Berwick trials. The only information I can find that relates to it is Daemonologie written by James VI. That book also contains an account of the trials from the newspaper at the time News from Scotland.

While it's a great source for the mindset of some people at the time and the rather gruesome (if sensational) uses of torture it doesn't really give me an idea of who the victims were, why they were suspected of that conspiracy and who the accusers were.

I've been searching high and low for books that might have been written about the case but aside from a few articles online I haven't found much luck.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

M.

Berwick Witch

Hi! I just came across some history as I was doing my research. Seems there was only one witch trail in Berwick. I'll try to find it for you and post back.

Wikipedia has some victim's names and their accusers for these witch trials.
