Jim,

Have you tried getting the librarians at the Dick Institute to search the archives? You never know, they might turn up something.

Best of luck

I tried the Dick Institute last week, spent hours sifting the archives with no luck at all, i've also spent hours surfing the net and all i could find was a little bit on Craigie Castle. It amazes me that a V illage as old as Craigie has no written History. Thanks anyway Drummy.

Jim,

I don't suppose Craigie has a Historical Society or anything like that? We are lucky in Kilmaurs that one of the stalwarts in the historical society put together a really good wee book giving the history of the village.

Did your sifting at the Dick Institute include the newspaper section? It's really tedious ploughing through them on the dreadful microfiche readers there, but I've found it useful in the past. Maybe you could consider contacting the local rags and freesheets to see if they will give you a wee bit of publicity for your search?
