Does anybody remember the Buttercup Dairy Company, which had 250 branches in Scotland and north east England in the first part of the last century? I have just written a book on the Buttercup and its remarkable founder Andrew Ewing, who donated all eggs laid at his poultry farm on a Sunday to hospitals - over 100,000 a week or 5,000,000 a year!
