I'd quite like to see a film about notorious real-life Orcadian pirate, John Gow, who lived during the golden age of pirates and plied his trade on the North Sea and Atlantic as far as Santa Cruz, Tenerife and into the Meditteranean.

He was hanged at Newgate in 1725, his tarred body (and those of his crew also hanged) then being displayed on the Thames riverbank. Yarrr ! An account of his piractical life was written by Daniel Defoe and Sir walter Scott based a pirate character (Captain Cleveland) on him.

Also, I would like to see a film version of Scott's The Fair Maid of Perth especially the Battle of the North Inch featuring Hal O' The Wynd, progenitor of the Gows.

There were probably several hundred inaccuracies in the film Braveheart here are just a few.
William Wallace was a wealthy landowner not a poor villager.
Princess Isabella who was depicted having a romantic affair with Wallace would have been 2 years old at the time.
The Kilt was not worn until the 16th century.
Robert the Bruce was not at the battle of Falkirk.
The Irish troops did not switch sides at the battle of Falkirk, although some Welsh archers refused to participate.
But who cares it was a pretty good film.

As well as Lethal Weapon "crazy looks" in Braveheart, I noticed Mel doing his trademark moves again a couple of years later in Payback including the famous "Falkirk" sitting on the ground, dazed and confused, forlorn and abandoned.

Talking Frankie Boyle

On the Braveheart subject, have to quote the great Frankie Boyle;

"Nobody thought Mel Gibson could play a Scot but look at him now! Alcoholic and a racist!"
