Being thrown onto iron spikes ?

Can someone tell me the name of the place in Scotland where the death sentence was carried out by throwing the criminal off a tower down onto iron spikes below ?

never heard of it , but i could think of a few chavs who should be thrown of

I remember a bit more now. There were two towers and the "criminals" would be given the chance to jump, with a run up from one to the other. If they made it to the otherside they would be made freee. However they would have their hands tied behind their backs. I think there is a legend that one man actually made it across. All the others dropped to their deaths onto the iron spikes.

Crazy I know but I saw this in a documentry once.
