They travelled afoot heading north for weeks to reach the enemy territory, along their travels they reached the big river, before now they had walked among their people but now they walked with the others. These people north of the river were neither friend nor foe and spoke a tongue alien to their own, it is true that they were once cut from the same cloth, however other influences had led these men astray and they could not be trusted in these times.
As they headed further north through this neutral land the people became more alien in their speech and even more hostile, infact it was Kinship from yonder that protected the travelling band from harm.
After finally crossing the border into enemy territory they connived a plan to plunder, maim, slaughter and rape. The plan was carried out with conviction.
The mood north of the borderlands was one of anger, town leaders met and talked of these evil actions from the people south of the border, they amassed their own army of men and headed south, likewise in a an act of revenge these people from the northern lands killed, maimed and slaughterd those south of the border, however their travelling never got as far south as the big river and most of the punished were those that felt neither from the North nor the South, these people, simple fishermen or farmers were the victims.
If only the voiceless could have spoken....
